The Works Recruitment celebrate 25 years this year!
The Works Recruitment was founded in 1991 as an owner managed agency. Initially as a totally new start up Craig Burton, founder and current Managing Director, began the business in Yorkshire with just two telephones, the yellow pages and a questionable hair cut.
The Works, with their Head office in Leeds covers the whole of the Yorkshire area and specialises in the commercial, engineering, construction and manufacturing sectors, and has 25 employees. They have over 220, 000 candidates and almost 2,000 employers on their database and a split of around 60% – 40% between temp and perm recruitment.
Twenty five years later and The Works has become one of the leading agencies within the city. The past 12 months has been particularly successful with various new appointments and re-brand their business alongside the launch of their brand new responsive website.
Craig Burton, Managing Director said: “So much has happened in the last 25 years which has really shaped the industry. The launch of Google was a massive revolution and this paved the way in changing how candidates and recruiters searched and advertised jobs.”
“With new applications occurring constantly you have to evolve with these changes, like embracing social media. Our success has been due to our flexibility within the marketplace and our investments in new technologies.”
Throughout The Works thriving 25 year history, they have established many long-term relationships with both high profile clients and local companies alike throughout Yorkshire. These relationships are down to The Works excelling in the level of service offered and their ability to match the great talent with great businesses.
This year, The Works plan on showcasing their achievements over the last 25 years by continuing to support Yorkshire businesses. This includes the sponsorship at the Buy Yorkshire Event in May, celebrating great home grown talent within Yorkshire.
