The Works Wombles down the Waterfront

The Works’ Kevan Watson and Ed Sanders got down and dirty when they volunteered to help with the canal clean-up ahead of the Leeds Waterfront Festival. Joining other volunteers from Aire Action and British Waterways, the duo helped to litter pick and tidy the waterfront towpath making the canals look their best for the festival, which will be held between 30th June and 31st July. The clean-up kicked off at Clarence Dock and continued by looping down the opposite bank down the stretch of waterfront ending at Brewery Wharf. Kevan, never one to miss an opportunity for free publicity, ‘encouraged’ each volunteer to wear The Works’ hi-viz jackets. Once finished, Oracle Bar kindly made sure the team of volunteers was fed and watered with canapés and Pimm’s!
