The Tour de France Arrives!

It’s finally here! The Tour de France has arrived in God’s county! We hope that this weekend you become a part of the spectacle of the world’s largest sporting event, with over 3.5 billion spectators across the globe watching the start of the race in Yorkshire.

We have been very excited for the weekend and took part in #YellowYorkshire day as a part of the celebrations, raising money for Shift MS – a social network charity for people with multiple sclerosis, where those who diagnosed with MS can find information about it, talk to fellow sufferers and learn and gain support from their experiences.

Just by turning up in non-uniform and giving a few pennies down to Mark’s fantastic baking skills, we managed to raise £53; just over a tenth of the way there to Mark’s £500 target he wants to donate as a part of his effort in this year’s Great North Run.

We were also very privileged to attend the Tour’s opening ceremony at the Leeds Arena, getting to meet all the team riders in this year’s race. One thing is for certain, quite a few of them think that the first two stages here in Yorkshire are very tricky ones to compete in!

We hope that get to enjoy the tour from wherever you can over the weekend. Let us know where you get to and what you get up to by giving us a tweet!: @worksrec.

We’re so excited for it even the office dog, Henri, got in on the action!:
