The Works makes a buck for Marie Curie

Two events in support of Marie Curie Cancer Care have raised over £500 pounds at The Works in the space of one weekend.

The Canal Side Social event on 13th September hosted at our Leeds Office for clients, friends and acquaintances raised £222 from a prize draw raffle as we were entertained by the singing of our very own Lyndsay Wilson.

Two days later, Mark Brennan, donned his trainers and vest for the Great North Run, completing in a very respectable time of 1 hour 44 minutes (but he’s not quite at Mo Farah-standard just yet!). His fantastic effort raised £322 pounds – 128% of his original target. A massive well done is in order for putting himself through such a rigorous challenge.

In total, £544 has been raised for Marie Curie in a single weekend and will help to provide care and support for cancer patients nearing their final days and their families.

Marie Curie has 2,000 nurses and last year worked a total of 1,300,000 hours whilst caring for terminally ill patients. None of which can be done without your help.

£544 pounds was easily done in a single weekend, so why don’t you get involved?
