Tour de Yorkshire

We waited for it, it came, and now it’s gone! What a fantastic weekend we have had across the County of Yorkshire as the Tour de France made its way through our cities, countryside, moors and villages.

What we and 3.5 billion others across the globe have seen this weekend, was a spectacle like no other. Images of the hordes of people clambering across the hills to cheer on some of the finest and most dedicated athletes from across the world compete in the biggest sporting event in the world have been printed across our

From Leeds to Skipton, Harrogate to Keighley, Huddersfield to Sheffield and everywhere in between. It has been an absolute privilege – from the start of the opening ceremony, to the finish line on day two – for our county.

Commendable is the effort of every single person who got out, some at the crack of dawn, to witness this fantastic event and to put on a one of kind show for the rest of the world to see. A two day advert broadcast across the globe has truly shown what ‘God’s county’ has to offer.

A special mention needs to be made for Gary Verity and his team at Welcome To Yorkshire, for making this event possible. His drive and commitment to making the county of Yorkshire one of top tourist destinations in the world has been the reason for such a highly prolific sporting event making its way to our shores.

So with that said, here are our snaps from a weekend that will go down in the history books!
