Part of a Global Group, this engineering manufacturers specialises in rubber mixing machinery. They have a site based near Manchester to which they are continually investing in.
For me, taking over a vacancy where not only has the initial brief already been taken and the communication has taken place but the position had been vacant for quite some time. It was clear our client wanted a certain pedigree on employee so it meant going back to the drawing board and using a different strategy to fill this position.
Historical Recruitment Approaches
The client traditionally used employment agencies and have used one in particular for many years. They were however interested to hear what I had to say.
I firstly began understanding the client and what it is they do, researching their site in Manchester but also on a global scale. I spent some time resourcing and researching candidates to test the market.
I then arranged a face to face meeting with my contact to which we discussed the vacancy in detail but more importantly I met the person to whom I will be speaking with almost on a daily basis. I also got to take part in a full walk around and fully understand their product from sheet metal to final inspection and export.
On from this, I resourced and contacted 100% perfect suit candidates. This meant location, attitude, skills and loyalty. Telephone interviews followed before I then put the candidate forward. Interviews followed this finally before one of my candidate was officially offered the position.
Our client has full confidence and will continue to use us moving forward. At The Works we dedicate time to taking detailed job specs, building relationships and resourcing the right candidates.
Costs and MI
Fees were negotiated from the outset with both parties agreeing on a set fee for the permanent placement.
Our client successfully employed a great candidate who matches their ambition and can help them grow even further. Investing in the future is at their forefront.
