The Works Recruitment.com based in Leeds/Bradford and Manchester has seen an increase in placements of temporary workers of over 55% in the year from September 2009.
Craig Burton MD said;
“These positions are mainly in Engineering and manufacturing and goes to prove that the flexibility of working with temporary employees are aiding the recovery without committing employers to long term liabilities. Most of our people are placed from one job to another and we manage to keep them working permanently providing we have the right companies on-board to place them. This has been our busiest year for over ten years. We’ve seen a massive increase in our Health and Social Care sector and Construction is booming as far as we are concerned. We’ve managed to keep pay rates to our workers up and with the increase in National Minimum Wage we are able to offer some long term opportunities for our people now”
“We are not out of the woods yet though” Said Craig Burton “and we have to watch out for companies hiring temps to bank roll their inefficiencies. We work with some amazing companies that are showing the economy that hard work and a keen eye on a competitive edge in manufacturing, product and services is a winner. We announced our fifteen thousandth placement last month and here’s to the next twenty. On-line recruitment is the way forward for us and we see an evermore increase in applications from the over 50’s who have taken to the net quicker and more effectively than the under 25’s.”
