Fundraiser’s 11 year old son helps Raise Funds for Marie Curie

Eleven year old Joe Curran followed close in his fathers footsteps recently and helped one of Marie Curie Cancer Care’s corporate supporters raise money for their local nursing service.

The Works Recruitment Company held a celebration following the opening of their new office location in Leeds recently and as part of their commitment to Marie Curie Cancer Care they organised a collection which raised £300

Up stepped 11 year old Joe to distribute and collect donation envelopes during the evening. In addition he also collected business cards from guests so his father, Brian, could follow up, in his role as Regional Corporate Development Manager.

Brian said, “We were delighted to be invited to this event and Joe was a great fundraiser during the evening. He showed great promise as a potential fundraiser.”

Craig Burton, MD of The Works said, “We are delighted to continue to support Marie Curie Cancer Care. As a recruiter it is heartening to see such a young person getting involved in the way that Joe did. If his dad doesn’t use Joe’s outstanding communication and sales skills Joe is lined up to take my job!”

Joe, who attends Pudsey Grangefield School said, “I had a great time collecting money and business cards and couldn’t wait to tell Craig how much we had raised.”
