The Works Join Forces With Marie Curie For 2011

Yorkshire recruitment specialists, The Works, have brought good news to local Marie Curie Cancer Care services by choosing to support them as their 2011 Charity of the Year. They have committed to raise money for the charity by participating in a number of challenges and fundraising events.

The company who have their Head Office in Leeds and offices in Manchester and Barnsley are already gearing up to enter a team in the Leeds Half Marathon Corporate Challenge. Oz Jackson who works in the Leeds office has always wanted to hit the heights by doing a parachute jump and is considering doing just that.

In addition they hope to encourage their clients to attend their fundraising events and support them. They will be arranging a Tea Party canal side to bring in the summer season, as well as turning the office yellow during Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal in March.

Craig Burton, The Works Managing Director said, “ We have always supported Marie Curie Cancer Care in an informal way but now we feel the time is right to recognise them as our chosen charity. We know how important their work is in caring for people who are terminally ill and feel privileged to be involved.

Brian Curran, Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Corporate Development Manager said, “We are delighted to be The Works chosen charity and we are looking forward to working with them over the next 12 months. We need the support of the corporate community in order to continue to care for our patients and their families.”
