The Works sponsor this year’s Leeds Manufacturing Festival

Once again, we are sponsoring this year’s Leeds Manufacturing Festival in a bid to encourage young people into a career in manufacturing. The festival is being organised by the Leeds Manufacturing Alliance and supported by West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and will bring greater awareness to the depth of career opportunities within manufacturing that exist across our region.

The festival will comprise of a number of site visits, events and exhibitions that will be open to students, careers advisers, teachers and parents and will give them a better understanding of what modern manufacturing is all about.

This year will see the return of the Leeds Manufacturing Live event which we created last year, and involves an audience of young people grilling a panel of local manufacturers. The aim of the event is to help young people develop a greater understanding and interest of the employment opportunities in manufacturing which are on their doorstep.

Craig Burton, our Managing Director, commented “It’s so important to us that we show young people and their parents what fantastic opportunities there are in manufacturing.” Craig continues “Advanced manufacturing is a key growth sector for Leeds and there will be more demand for people with technology and engineering skills in the future. There is likely to be more competition for skilled trades and the manufacturing sector can offer some really exciting opportunities!”

If you want to get on board, join in with any of the events, or just find out a bit more please visit the main website – https://leedsmanufacturingfestival.co.uk/
